Although built on the Birds of India by the same authors this is an excellent field guide in its own right. There are useful maps and introduction chapters about where to go biding in the country and a list of vagrant species, but the bulk of the book is 110 top-notch colour plates illustrating all 760 regular species, the text entries face the plates. Don't ever go hiking in the Himalayas without this book. 13.5 x 21.5 cm.
