Yes, amazingly, we now have two excellent field guides to the birds of Borneo. Karen Phillipps has improved her drawing technique by leaps and bounds since she worked on the 1993 field guide by MacKinnon (see title below). Quentin Phillipps proves the text, the species are organized in plates with text and distribution maps facing the illustrations. The book is packed with additional information and beuatiful habitat plates, it essentially doubles up as a site guide. Why does it cover 664 species when Myers covers 633? Both guides are great in their own right, but which book is best? Get both to judge for yourself!
